Spinners Motown Record label recordings available on Kent Records CDs

In case anyone is unaware of the Spinners two great albums availability, there are two excellent CDs available for purchase. Here are the details of these.

The Spinners - Truly Yours - Kent CDTOP 371
Includes The Original Spinners - Motown LP 639 - 12 songs
14 Bonus Tracks including 10 previously unissued

The Spinners - While The City Sleeps - CDTOP 481
Includes 2nd Time Around - VIP LP 405 - 12 songs
13 Bonus Tracks including 10 previously unissued

Collectors should really like these two releases which were produced in London by ACE/KENT. Their website is www.acerecords.com. They are also available through other US outlets.

The project manager for this project was Mick Patrick and the archive research was expertly compiled by Keith Hughes. We owe a debt of gratitude and appreciation to both of these Motown experts. Thank you!

If you don't have these, get them. They will more than likely disappear rapidly as a result of the upcoming publicity on the Spinners.

This one from Kent is VERY essential for Motown collectors because it features "The Original Spinners" in its mono mix. Coupled with the Japanese Universal release of the same album, you can have the extremely rare pleasure of having both mono and stereo mixes in digital format.

These two CD's came out in 2012 & 2018, both CD's include 23 unissued tracks from the vaults. If you haven't already you are really missing out on 2 stunning Cd's!

Have 'em both. And I've a stereo version of The Detroit Spinners UK album, called The Original Spinners in the States!

I would consider the ACE/KENT releases on The Spinners to be essential for any Motown collector. There are some absolute classic tracks there including previously unreleased examples. I love The Spinners Motown output.

As mentioned already, too, you can set Japanese CD releases of both the original Spinners album and "Second Time Around". Thankfully, over the years we've been well blessed with Spinners tracks being released from the vaults - but Atlantic saw the real value with the group and they really came into their own there.
