You can see Smokey light up when Claudette is mentioned....I would guess they each share a special spot in each other's hearts to this day. Just because a marriage ends doesn't mean love ends, in some cases anyways! :)

Shop around has a legendary history, according to legend it is said that originally claudette sang lead, but berry didn't like it and put smokey on lead...any truth to it??

There's no proof of that however, it's possible that Berry first tried out "Shop Around" with Claudette singing lead and it didn't sound right to him. Also, Smokey originally wanted Barrett Strong to do the song but B.G. said no & persuaded Smokey & Co. to do the song. And we know about the different takes of "Shop Around" that preceded the version that hit the charts back in 1960.
