Hi this is Kev-Lo

I just want to share with you a landmark that was in my New York home town of the south bronx back in the 60's and 70's. It was the 3rd Ave El that I rode on when I was growing up in the 60's and 70's. They took it down in April of 1973. Here it is

Yes there are still El's in Brooklyn and partial ones on the LIRR going through Queens.

I guess the Jones Beach Lighthouse would be considered a landmark in my area. It is Long Island.

this landmark tower has always fascinated me...... i'd assumed it was in Chicago....with the JB connection......but a few Conlo recordings came out on Parkway ..mebbe Philly.[[Liberty Bell?)...i should just ask Jerry...but i have no hot line....what do you think?

Kev-Lo, thanks for posting this link. So many memories.....Coming uptown from 34th street or 42nd street taking the number 2 or 5 train to 149th street and going upstairs to catch the El, which took forever, especially on a weekend coming from a concert at Manhattan Center.. :-)

Hi this is Kev-Lo

Thanks nysister I knew you would remember this....I too use to ride on that El. I miss the El 3rd Ave was not the same since they took it down. Remember the part where Nedicks was..We use to go in there and eat those hot dogs all of the time. And you know Hearns Dept Store was right around the corner. I'm glad to bring back those those golden Bronx memories
