the boss cover is one of her very very best. just stunning and iconic. To Be Loved is also a gem, even if the album wasn't as hot.

in regards to the Boss photo shoot, i have to say that i find there to be a larger gap in "great" versus "ok" pics than in most shoots. for instance, the Baby Its Me session has tons of amazing pics. with the Boss shoot, there are the pics in the green top, some in a red gingham one, some in a black leather jacket. but the 2 used on the front and back of the lp are just so spectacular. the others just seem to pale in comparison.

or maybe it's just that i love the cover pic so much that the others just didn't have a prayer lol

It always looked to me that the one in the black leather jacket was a recreation of the Boss cover. Same pose/setting. But the makeup looks to be from the 80’s.

I agree. I believe I have that photo in one of her 80s tour books.
