He did it once, and then he did it again, but I can't really get into these albums and I think once was more than enough. What do you think about them?

The second one seems brighter and punchier to me plus has the guest appearances for what they're worth. Aren't they just lumbering [[boring at times?) versions of classic songs or are they really classics in themselves?

I have these two albums and have listened to them in some way or another, but can’t really remember any standout tracks.

The first one I recall was in a laidback R&B style, with some nice grooves. The second one was more acoustic and easy listening [sometimes nice, sometimes a bit dull :p]

It’s interesting that Lamont revisited these songs not once, but twice! Still, I guess they are some of the greatest songs ever written! :D So I shall give both albums another listen.

I’ve listened to most of Reimagination… and it’s nothing if not true to its title. Some very strange stylistic choices and guest appearances, and none of the songs really get out of first gear.

Here's a very strange version of "Bernadette"…

I remember seeing Lamont perform in London. Only Reach Our I'll Be There struck the similarity chord for me. There were also some support artists and I distinctly remember getting excited seeing a 3 girl group called Mis-Teeq come on stage. However, they did a rap version of a Supremes song and it was dreadful. But then maybe I was not the right audience for them.
