Sadly local radio/TV personality and big time record collector, King Harris, suddenly succumbed this week at the age of 75.

He seemed fine Friday afternoon during his regular weekly one hour guest spot to discuss 45 records: each time with a certain focus, folk singles, British Hits, girl groups. etc. This week his final appearance coincidentally was a discussion about Motown.

Also:

This Friday's episode , today at 4 pm will be his last. As was his way , King had already scripted what he would discuss for the episode. So following those prep sheets, the show will proceed , but without his live commentary. This last show will be about Elvis Presley. It can also be heard live or as a podcast at the above link.

Sure going to miss listening to this man's generous sharing of his music knowledge.

RIP King Harris

Just got a chance to listen to the Elvis edition that aired Friday, the text read by radio host Dave Congalton. I learned quite a bit, this is the story of Elvis from 1954 -1958:
