so we have a handful of her song selections from her early live shows:

Supremes medley - Stop, come See, my world, baby love
Beatles medley
leading lady medley
Something on my mind
Is that all there is
opening medley - i've heard it included Don't Rain On My parade, nitty gritty, reflections, rhythm of life
reach out and touch

I’d give anything to hear her comedic take on “How Dry I Am” from her solo debut shows.

Brilliant find sup, and most enjoyable. Diana in great voice here, particularly on “Got To Get You Into My Life”. This really wets the appetite to hear more.

“You Never Give Me Your Money” was a wonderful surprise; it’s the only one in this medley she hadn’t done elsewhere. Thanks for posting!

i liked that one too! and found it interesting that Come Together sort of mirrors the version in terms of production and approach to the EIE one. at least somewhat. Wonder when Deke was toying with the idea of DR Sings The Beatles and if that concept influenced this medley

Interesting medley. But glad it was confined to early live solo shows and that she didn't do a whole album of Beatles songs. She was being positioned to be the solo superstar of the 70s and doing an album "Diana Ross sings the Beatles" would have been a looking backward move.

True, one can make the argument that Lady Sings the Blues was a "backward move" musically, recording songs from the 30s-50's. But as it was a soundtrack album for a movie that she starred in, it announced that Diana was more than just a pop singer, but a true multi-talented superstar--singer, actress, performer. And thus worthy of being a solo superstar.

I think DR covered the British Sound enough on the A Little Bit of Liverpool album. The British sound never moved me like the Motown Sound did. Plus the Beatles had just broken up the month before in April. So we know of at least live shows from early in DR's solo career that I'm sure her fans would love to hear, 52 years later.

The tracklist of the bootleg Live at the Grove 1970s is listed on Discogs. Such a shame that Universal is not doing an official release of the early live shows. The sound quality of "Something On My Mind" is really good.
