I came across this version totally by accident. I had never heard Marvin Gaye's version and doing some research I discovered that there is a remix
version by Marvin Gaye and the Marvelettes.

How many other members have been aware of this?

Not a bad song but the Marvelettes performance is in my opinion one of their very best songs ever recorded by them.

Marvelous! One of my favorite HDH songs. I like both versions. Thanks for posting this mix.

I have been aware of the song for a few years now and think its absolutely wonderful how well they have mixed the two versions...makes you wonder what others would sound like remixed as duets.

That was really nicely done! Gaye’s and Young’s voices sound amazingly natural as if they were actually singing together. I’m surprised how well the backgrounds blended together. Did Gaye utilize the same backing track?

Honestly, this remix gave the song added dimension as a duet. Thanks for posting.

I believe this is one of Midnight Johnny [[John Perrone) Remixes.

It is the same backing track for both artists.

I always felt it was really saying something that HDH recorded Marvin on this song as well. His recording it almost confers a sort of "stature" to a song done by a teenage girl group. I guess what I'm getting at is "Forever" is a beautiful song and why Motown didn't see it as a potential single for the Marvelettes seems to speak more to their wanting to keep the group squarely in the teen slot as opposed to allowing them to advance to a more mature sound like Martha & The Vandellas or Mary Wells.

It's not one of his, am trying to find out who it was.

I got it from John a long time ago. I guess I got it mixed up with other songs he sent me that were his remixes.

Marvin Gayes version was a couple of years after the Marvelettes.Without digging through my records, I think Marvins version is the flip of "How Sweet It Is".Marvelettes was the flip side of "Locking Up My Heart" & actually hit #24 on the R & B Chart & #78 on the Hot 100.
