Shirley Bassey on Jeopardy!!!

On tonight's episode of Jeopardy, our Dame Shirley was the correct question, one that any of us would of course known right away. The category was about different Shirleys and for some reason the only other ones I can remember now are the short story author Shirley Jackson and pioneering black politician Shirley Chisholm.

But then they gave an answer that went something like this........"This Welsh singer sang the theme songs for three James Bond movies." The ultimate champion got it right and finished with $52,001 for just this one episode.

Well my guess is that knowing that it had to be a Shirley helped. If they had just asked for the singer's name out of the blue, you might have been right.

You know what surprised me, was that she only sang the theme song in three James Bond movies. Based on my memory and her reputation, I assumed it was several more than that! Great to see her mentioned in a clue.
