Hello Form,

I was reading an article from the newspaper publication "Reno-Gazette-Journal" published in October of 1968, and this was a review of their opening show at the South Shore Room at Harrah's casino in Reno,Nevada. In this, it states that they opened their show with a medley from their album "I hear a symphony" familiar to many of their shows prior, which featured "With A Song In My Heart", "Without A Song" "Strange In Paradise", etc. .They went onto perform a "Medley of the Hits". It was basically their typical setlist from 1967. However, this setlist featured "Falling In Love With Love" and closed with "There's A Place For Us". Does anyone have any knowledge of what other changes were made to their show ?

If I remember correctly, the record "Love Child" was introduced to into their show around this time as-well. I recall seeing a photograph of the girls in the attire they wore on Ed Sullivan Show, during their 1968 engagement at the Coconut Grove.

i believe they were starting the show with Love Child and coming out in the Sullivan-like outfits. then at some point relatively soon, they'd do a costume change into their traditional gowns.

I recall reading a review where they did this. It makes me wonder how they kept the audience from being bored during the costume change and so soon in the show. As you probably recall, when they debuted the song on Ed Sullivan, it took them longer than they expected to change from their FUNNY GIRL gowns into the LOVE CHILD outfits.

I’m guessing whoever was the opening act

They used this formula with several shows in mid/late '66 as well with opening the shows with "Come See About Me" and "You Can't Hurry Love" and then an opening act would come out after those two songs. I believe they did "Love Child" and the hits medley in late '68 then would change.

That makes some sense. I once saw Johnny Mathis do something similar although he did at least a half hour or so before turning the show over to the opening act.

I believe Diana or Mary or both mentioned that fact in later interviews.
