So sad to post this news. I was lucky enough to see two concerts during the Labelle reunion as well as one of her solo gigs at Joe's Pub in NYC.

Just a few days ago, someone posted a clip from a recent Patti concert where she and Sarah sang ISN'T IT A SHAME.

R.I.P. Sarah.

Oh, dear. MY Sarah. Love[[d) the lady. I attended many a Labelle concert in the NYC area and a Sarah solo show at the beloved Reno Sweeney in Greenwich Village. I love all three ladies of Labelle but Sarah was my crush. Be well, Sarah Dash, in your new life. You did good and will be remembered.

R.I.P. Sarah.Thanks, fellow-traveler Reese. I don't see a cause of death; have I missed it?

Goodness me. She just liked a birthday tribute I posted for her on IG a few weeks ago. Rest in power to an icon.

Rest in power, Sarah Dash. Aaaah...I had some hope that I might see my favorite vocal group onstage again. The music is eternal.

Patti said a couple of weeks ago on Watch What Happens Liive that Labelle has reunited again and seemed to imply they would all Tour with Gladys Knight. So sad

Very sad news. I'm so glad that they made that reunion happen in 2008. It would have been great to see them perform together once more, but at least they all remained friends and sisters, and celebrated their legacy together.

Rest In Peace to Ms Sarah Dash, a GREAT talent. I have been a fan since 1962. Loved that solo record she made "Sinner Man".

Recently, it was announced that Sarah Dash will be inducted into New Jersey Hall’s of Fame along with Leslie Gore, Patti Smith and Alexander Hamilton

The honorees for the Oct. 16 remote ceremony — which will be broadcast on NJ PBS, social media and radio — have all made indelible contributions to music, literature, business, sports and public service.

Last night Patti Labelle and Gladys Knight performed together in Georgia marking perhaps Patti's first concert appearance since the death of Sarah Dash.

Patti spoke candidly about losing Sarah Dash so suddenly just days after she had given Sarah Dash flowers on stage at a concert after singing together.

Patti said Gladys Knight has been helping her grieve through the loss of Dash and “several other family members,” she’s lost.

“Gladys has been in the back with me praying. I was with her when she lost members of the Pips,” she said through tears and her voice trembling. “So now we’ve lost a Labelle. God bless Sarah Dash.”

She admitted that Gladys Knight has given her a shoulder to lean on through the tears and said she’s been there and even prayed with her before she hit the stage.

That's a lovely story, Milven, and I thank you for finding it. It must be so difficult for Patti [[as it is for all of us) to lose someone with whom one has shared a significant part of one's life. We all look at things in different ways. I, the random universe atheist, admit to wondering if there was a plan from the universe to have Sarah on stage with Patti that one last time. Who knows? I surely don't. What I do know is that Labelle [[the group) and Sarah-Nona-Patti [[as solos) have been a wonderful part of my life and I am joyful that I was able to exist here on earth at the same time as these three women.
