Mike: Thank you for locating this interview. It was well worth the 52 minutes to listen to it. I especially loved his comments about how he was the only Motown artist in the early days to have either the entire recording group or members of the respective group singing background for his songs. He stated that the only group back then that he had no involvement with the the one and only Elgins. Quite an accomplishment. He attributed Mary Wells departure tot "poor management." He also told the story of the GK&P and his recordings of I Heard It Through the Grapevine.

How terrible Berry Gordy and Motown Records were to this man.
Why, without their Support, Management, Productions and Promotions he could have been a background unknown member of a doo wop group, stand by drummer and a tenth rate Nat King Cole.
