Like many club acts, it appears she was singing to a prerecorded backing track and not with a band, but what I found odd was that she was singing with her own vocal tracks, not just the instrumentals, so it sounds like two people. Usually the vocals are removed for live performances.

When they teamed up as a duo, I saw Bonnie and June Pointer sing to pre-recorded tracks with vocals still intact. It wasn't so bad when they did a song they originally sang on like June's lead on JUMP or Bonnie's hit HEAVEN MUST HAVE SENT YOU. But it was weird when they performed I'M SO EXCITED and you could still hear Anita's original lead.
