Interesting release. The only track that made me raise an eyebrow was The Look of Love by GK&TP. Not sure I would describe that particular track as Psychedlic Soul.

Correcta' Mundo! IMO, I'd say Easy listening/Jazz.

And while we're at it, I don't consider Rose Royce's "Ooh Boy" & "Love Don't Live Here Anymore" nor Marvin Gaye's "I Heard It Through The Grapevine" to be 'Psychedelic Soul'. Anyway, this looks like an interesting overview of Norman Whitfield's work during the late '60s and into the '70s.

What a poorly titled compilation!!!!......I love all the work the folks at Ace put into
reissuing material but dang, somebody got a bit sloppy on this one. Mammatapee's Good
Loving is nobody's Psychedelic anything. Ditto on the Rose Royce;I've never quite forgiven
folks for the way Gwen Dickey AKA Rose Norwalt was exploited though she had given
that group their biggest successes....

Looks good but it's not really one for me. Motown made some good compilations such as the two "Psychedelic Soul" rekeases and the Marvin Gaye "Norman Whitfield Sessions"

Ooh, looks like a great set! But, as has been said, half the tracks on it aren’t really psychedelic soul. Still, it does well to illustrate the breadth, creativity and success of Norman's work!!! :D

Obviously marketing is the chief dictate for the title of this compilation, not accuracy. A shame in a way. Norman Whitfield could sure produce "psychedelic soul" but he could also turn out a great straight up ballad.

Norman Whitfield could produce some psychedelic soul! Though Frank Wilson, HDH, and Charles Stepney weren’t slouches either in that department.
