I noticed in today's paper, that today was the birthday of one of my all-time favorite Rock and Roll guys. Nobody does it better than Seger, and am pleased to know he is going back out on tour. Keep rockin' Bob.

I fervently maintain that Bob is one of the best interperters of the "Chuck Berry" school of rock and roll out there.....

And yes, I know there's a mistake in the "Smokin' OP's" description......

There is an interesting article about Bob Seger in the Chicago Reader: http://www.chicagoreader.com/chicago/bob-seger-bootleg-compilation/Content?oid=3770583

That was an interesting article based on a premise I agree with, that Seger did his best stuff BEFORE "Live Bullet".

I agree, too, Doug, purely based on my childhood/preteenage memories of his music back in the '60's, which was very popular in Michigan and given lots of airplay on radio stations in the region where I spent many of my summers at my grandmother's house [[Battle Creek), as well as the Detroit stations that we could hear on the radio.

I always refer to "Heavy Music", "Santa's Got a Brand New Bag", "Ramblin' Gamblin' Man", et al, as the REAL Bob Seger [[which is not to say I don't like his later music...I like it a LOT)...Happy Birthday, Bob, and long may you run!!

Best,

Mark
