And they still shun Chris Jasper brother in-law who was in the band and instrumental to their hitmaking success.

Ron owns the name, just like George Clinton owns P-Funk All Stars, so he can do what he
wants as far as the group is concerned and he is the last of the original Isleys. Yes, Chris
was instrumental in them hitting with The Heat Is On release which featured Fight The Power but but he also tried to take control of the group from the start of his tenure. He
indeed was the one who coerced Ernie, Ron's baby brother guitarist into leaving the group with Marvin to form Isley Jasper Isley. Do you think Ron ever forgot that? Ernie
had a solo career for a minute, I followed it but at some point he decided back with his
big brother was where he wanted to be...

Chis jasper joined in 1971. Ernie was the first to join back in 1968, and Marvin was the last to join.

Chris tells it differently. According to Chris, he was the principal songwriter and actual producer. He was the brains behind the classic Isley Brothers sound. Go back and listen to the albums starting with "Giving It Back" and you'll hear it. Jasper's influence became much more pronounced on the "Brother Brother Brother" album, and beyond, as did Ernie's multi-instrumentalist abilities. Also note that Chris Jasper handles all of the charts, as he was a Julliard school graduate and was trained in classical music.

Ron may have decided to shun him from the family because he is not blood. Maybe he blames Chris for causing the band to split up in 1983. We don't know because Ron never talks about it.

Despite what Mr. Jasper says, perhaps a clue as to who actually wrote all those songs comes in the sequence of how the songwriting credits are listed on the record labels. The younger guys, who handles all the music, were clearly in the production seat. Most often you'll see Ernie or Chris's name listed first. But, Ron was such a master at vocals that he didn't need the direction.
