I would love to hear a mature MJ's take on the song

I think the answer to that must be no. However, as an
alternative, you might want to have a listen to Terence Trent D'arby's version. My mum used to play his album a lot when I was a kid and said he patterned his version of Who's Lovin' You after MJ.

No he didn’t. I wonder if his vocal issues made it impossible for him to sing this song later on. There is a video that goes into his timeline as a vocalist and honestly I can’t see him doing WLY as a grown-up.
