Any idea where from? This must have been when they both recorded for Atlantic Records. I think they both had early starts on the King label. Sometimes with King, it's hard to know, as they leased lots of material from other labels and released it under the King moniker. But there's a King "Best of Joe Tex" LP, and one rare "Presenting the Kingpins," which I believe was King Curtis' group.

Great performance. Thanks for posting. I always loved Joe Tex's voice also, though his choice of material didn't always appeal to me. He really had that "Southern soul" style. Sad they both died so young, and I believe Curtis was murdered.
