It is with great regret that I tell you of the passing of my good friend Tom King, the lead guitarist and founder of the Outsiders of "Time Won't Let Me" fame. He passed away early Saturday morning after a long period of ill health, aged 68.
I will always appreciate the music Tom made, first with the Starfires and then with the Outsiders, but I will always appreciate his friendship more. It was due to him that I got the opportunity to write liner notes for two CD's that Collectables Records released, one a comp of his Starfires material, the other a document of live performances made by a new Outsiders act in the early '90s.
