Motown Legends - Polygram Special Projects CD releases.

Back in the mid-1990's Polgram Special Projects released a series of compilation CDs. I have two of them of to refer to for this inquiry. The Marvelettes [Beechwood 4-5780] and [Playboy]. The other group CD is Diana Ross & The Supremes [My World Is Empty Without You] and [I Hear a Symphony]. The Marvelettes has three *bonus tracks --- You're The One, Everybody Knows But You, and When I Need You. The Supremes also has three *bonus tracks --- I'll Set You Free, The Land of Make Believe, and Mr. Blues. Cary Mansfield was the compiler for both of these.

These rarely get any discussion. Does anyone know of a complete official listing of all that were released? Often I look at discographies of releases, i. e. Randy's Rodeo.com and they are not included in those categories he featured that include a picture of what the releases look like.

I think they are a great item to possess. What does anyone else know about this series and/or what do they think about them?

The one thing that sticks out for me about this series is one of the Supremes cds had many Jimmy Webb tracks on cd for the first time. However, the cd had a cover photo of DMF whereas all of the material was from the 70s.

This list on Discogs includes different Legends series but also several of the ones you're refering to here. But not all, I only have 2 a Four Tops one and a Junior Walker one which isn't listed. The Junior Walker one has some great tracks and quite unusual maybe for the time the CDs were issued. However, they didn't seem to present great value as they didn't have that many tracks.
