I agree Jai, I didn't like this end. I would have prefered that King Kong go back to his jungle with his fiancée. Of course the 1933 version is the one to see.

I remember watching The Color Purple in the theaters. I went to see it alone because when you're young, single and employed you can do things like that [[good ol' days, I call them). Anyway, there were several scenes in that movie that tore my heart out and since I wasn't with a date, nobody could blame me if I cried. But I sucked it up and earned my man card that day. It was hard but I was proud that I didn't lose a drop. When I made the obligatory trip to the loo on the way out of the cinema, I was forced to wait behind a line of brothers whom I assume took their girlfriends or wives because they were bawling like little girls. Pretty sure they sucked it up in the movie and couldn't hold it out after the first one heard another guy cry.

I felt as if I cheated myself. I could have cried and sobbed and boo hooed to my heart's content and it would absolutely have been justified. To this day, I won't watch that movie again because I know what will happen if I do and I don't want to turn my man card in, even though there's clearly an exception to the "Men Don't Cry" rule.

"Brian's Song" was the closest one. I saw it on TV when I was in the 5th Grade. Didn't cry,but it was sad.

True nerd that I am!Good choice. This is still the first movie that comes to mind when I think of Gene Wilder [[Blazing Saddles is next). I remember my fifth grade teacher read Charlie & the Chocolate Factory to us. She wasn't exactly dramatizing it but the class hung on every word.
