For anyone interested, Martha sat in for Tony Blackburn on "Sounds of the 60s" on Saturday morning 29 Aug [[UK BBC Radio 2), and the show is available for four weeks. She recorded it in Detroit and so wasn't actually over here at the time.

Somethings you never get used to ..... so surprised and happy to see one of Ross’ strongest vocals on the list.

Somethings you never get used to ..... so surprised and happy to see one of Ross’ strongest vocals on the list. I'm surprised Martha liked that song as well. I liked that song too

That's indeed a very nice list. Guess Martha tries to be modest by not adding too many of own songs. I would have added Heatwave which to me shouts out 60's Motown. I am surprised as well she added Somethings. Wonder what she likes about the song. I definitely like it.

Nice list from Martha but I really don't find anything really eclectic about it. It's nothing
outside of what one hear on a classic R&B/Soul broadcast. I could see if it mixed other
genres. Even staying close to what is called Black music or the strains of music from people
whose roots came from Africa, there is no blues, jazz and almost no funk. Still I know
it's from Martha's timeline...

With so few records played charting in the UK, I can't help wondering how much the playlist appealed to the average listener to the show.
