On my TV music channels tonight, they played a song entitled You Can Do Magic, by an artist named Limmie and Family Cooking. It was kind of catchy and the lead vocalist had a high range similar to Deniece Williams or Felice Taylor. I had never heard of this song, so what is the scoop on it?

Unfortunately, I have not heard this. Perhaps it is a takeoff of Could This Be Magic by the Dubs on the End label.

It was a hit in the UK, at a time when so many pop/soul tracks were played on the radio and in general discos.

The lead singer was Limmie Snell.

The followup, "Dreamboat", reached #31 in the UK in October 1973.

Their next and final hit was a revival of The Essex's record "A Walkin' Miracle". It reached #6 in the UK in April 1974.

Limmie was male and Jimmie was female, but a lot of people mistakenly thought that it was the other way round.

Jimmie was the lead vocalist on this track.
