Smokey Robinson & The Miracles, from a UK perspective the first I ever heard of them was "Tears Of A Clown" which was a huge hit when I first really started collecting Tamla Motown records.

It came as a big shock when I saw USA import singles in the window of a Blackpool record shop and realised that there were diffferent labels involved. Out of curiosity, I bought my first USA Motown label single from that very shop but that's another story.

Many albums released in the UK had remarkably different track lists to their USA counterparts. Of course, we didn't get everything - several SRATM studio albums being among the ones we didn't get. Occasionally too we got albums not released in the USA. Today everything USA seems to be available digitally where not already on CD.

Still I would buy a Miracles "Greatest Hits From The Beginning" should ever an official CD version be made available. Highly unlikely, of course, especially given the various anthologies available [[and especially since releases generally seem to have dried up). There was some discussion that a CD had already been available in the past but I'm doubtful about that.

Vinyl wise we got these "Greatest Hits" albums in the UK [[and a little later the 3 LP Anthology). Uploaded as a gif to save space.

wow...how could they leave off the most loved Miracles track "from the beginning" in Philly, Jersey, South Florida and Pittsburgh?

"Would I Love You"

There is no better - just sayin'

Well it wasn't a UK hit, Greatest or otherwise, but in the UK "Would I Love You" had already appeared on The Miracles "I Like It Like That" LP [[TML11003).
