Not sure if this will necessarily interest anyone on this forum, but if anything, I think it's a wonderful thing that Mattel has honoured the legendary Ella Fitzgerald by creating a collectible Barbie doll...

Yes, this made me so happy when it was released a few months back. It's an uncanny likeness and a fitting, overdue tribute.

I agree, sansradio. I had to put in my order, as I love it and love Ms Ella, and felt that it would be a lovely doll to display with my collection. A well deserved tribute! I had also heard about this doll before its release in February and then I totally forgot about it, until yesterday. Here's hoping that they will do more. I'd love to see them do one for Aretha.

How nice! Looks about as much as Ella as I do but a great thing anyway.
