If I'm not mistaken, I believe this was taken during Diana's '79 Caesars run; if memory serves, Ree took in Diana's show while Ree was in town playing the Aladdin herself.

That was indeed from '79... this was actually right after Aretha had released the "Almighty Fire" album late the previous year.

Yep...and it was not long after the pic was taken that Aretha heard the tragic news about her father's shooting, having to rush to Detroit and cut her own Aladdin residency short.

Great! That makes perfect sense [[though Ree was living in California at the time lol). I'm guessing she got Ree to sing a little bit of "Reach Out and Touch" [[which Ree sometimes did during her 71-72 tour).
