Hard to believe that's been over 50 years ago now. Thanks Luke!

I remember that program. I believe the author of the book, Donald Vogel was the host/narrator.

Bogle may have done the later edition from the late '80s, but Billy Dee Williams was the narrator/host for this one.

Thanks! I have always wondered who the person was that filmed this. Even this small amount is appreciated!

You got it. Bogle is my idol; he's the ultimate authority on African-Americans' contributions to film in particular. I got the chance to chat him up after his guest lecture at my university eons ago. It was thrilling.

Yeah, that's right. I remember Billy Dee did one of them. Thanks Sansradio.

It was a great series. For years I regretted that I only taped the last episode when it originally aired. It was a pleasant surprise to find it all again on YouTube.

Is it all back? I remember the 1960s-1980s segment being yanked, IIRC.

I didn't know it was yanked. It has been quite a while since I watched it there. I just looked and I can find only one complete episode.
