Agree 100%. As good as Diana’s version is, Blinky has complete ownership. She takes the song to another level.

Blinky does take it to a different level. It's how I imagine Aretha would sing it. I heard Diana's version first and I still rather prefer it. It seems like a preview of her singing on Lady Sings The Blues, although I didn't know it in early 1970.

Like I said in another thread, I judge things based on their own merits. This is one of my favorites from this album. Diana is great on this song.
