Fond memories of a great Motown official - Esther Gordy Edwards

I have not seen any other mention of this fact, however, today April 25, 2020 would be the date 100 years later that Esther Gordy Edwards was born. She was born on April 25, 1920.

She was a great person. She single handedly worked to save and preserve the Motown Museum and it's legacy.

So please give her your thoughts today. She would be extremely proud of the accomplishments and the goals that are being put forward on the upcoming expanded Motown Museum. She was truly proud of that institution.

In memory of Esther on her 100th birthday.....I'm glad she had the foresight to save what she did and preserve Hitsville for all of us. Hopefully within a few years the site will be expanded to a vision that I'm sure Esther never could have imagined.

Russ and I always called her Auntie Esther. A very special person during my time at Motown.

She was my friend, mentor, and simply a beautiful person. I miss her. Happy Birthday, Mrs. Edwards, I'll always remember you.
