Most of us true soul music fans love Bobby Womack but we don't give him enough exposure here to get newer members interested. Here's the first cut from Womack's 4th studio album, 'Understanding', released on March 30, 1972. Stilla Killa!

Here's the second track from this superb lp. Woman's Gotta Have It was actually the first single from the album and a considerable hit [[#1 R&B). Bobby wrote this song with Sam Cooke's daughter, Linda Cooke Womack. A great, cautionary lyric and an iconic groove.

Great LP, Bobby was a GREAT singer/songwriter. You know NEW BIRTH had a pretty big hit with their version of "I Can Understand It" if I remember correctly it was produced by Harvey Fuqua. "Womans Got To Have It was a huge hit for Womack.
