Wow... Since this just came up recently here... I just happened across this interview with the legendary bassist Joe Osborn RIP...the OTHER Wrecking Crew bassist [[with perhaps the biggest discography in pop music) and he's asked about the Carol Kaye / Jamerson Motown controversy... His response will blow your mind, although the interviewer mentioned Jackson 5 records and most of the tracks in question weren't the J-5 [[Wilton Felder did those) but 4 Tops, Stevie, and even the Tempts...... http://poopnugget.com/files/Joe%20Osborne%20on%20Kaye-Jamerson-basscast.mp3

Joe is a legend and a reputed nice all around guy...Discovered the Carpenters and played virtually every genre... If some of your favorites aren't on Joes discography...You've never listened to the radio the past 60 years [[and this list doesn't even contain the dozens of Country hits he played on in Los Angeles and after moving to Nashville)... https://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/joe-osborn-one-heck-of-a-discography.113479/

Ok, this sounds like how I explained who the Funk Brothers were to a huge crowd on Long Island one summer before their show. I'm going to check the link out. Thanks Stu!

Would love to hear the full interview, loved when he said it was clear to everyone else who played bass on these songs except her. I agree too bad as she was one of the greats on bass
