One of her most signature songs may be about how nothing can keep her away, but Diana Ross is singing a new tune.

The Grammy Award-winning diva — who famously braved torrential thunderstorms to sing in Central Park in 1983 — had to put the brakes on two Miami concerts due to the deadly coronavirus pandemic.

Just hours before fans were to assemble to see the music legend bring her talents to the Fillmore Miami Beach theater for a two-night engagement, Ross had to stop in the name of love — and health — of her fans.

From Twitter:
“Out of concern for public health & safety, the performances in Miami, March 12&13 are postponed,” she wrote in a Twitter post Thursday morning.

“We’re heeding warnings from those who have communicated concerns about large events,” she added. “We’re always concerned about the safety of our audiences. We’ll attempt to reschedule these shows.”

Since last year, the former Supremes frontwoman has been on the Diamond Diana touring jaunt, celebrating her 75th birthday.

The Motown Records legend is scheduled to perform six performances at an exclusive engagement at Wynn Las Vegas April 8 through April 18.

This June, Ross is due to headline the Glastonbury Festival 2020 and will kick off a string of U.K. dates in July.

Just like the cretins who 'boo-ed' Diana at Florence Ballard's funeral and who, nearly 50 years later, excoriate her for speaking at the service [[and who would be still shi$$ing their Welfare Depends if she had not shown nor spoken), these fxxxx fools will criticize anything Diana does. If Diana had gone on with these shows? SHE'S GREEDY AND DOESN'T CARE ABOUT WORLD HEALTH!!!' . They say it takes all kinds, but some kinds are just a-holes.

No one is criticizing Diana. All comments I’ve seen have been positive and supportive. People are wishing her well and think this is the right thing to do.

As it should be. Diana is always very concerned for the public. Unfortunately some of the more obsessive fans live in a constant state of paranoia where Diana is concerned. They see criticism even when none exists. Weird.

Where did you see anyone criticizing Diana about this? A day or two from now, if not already, the artists will have no choice but to cancel. In NY, venues will only allow to seat 500 people, so just about everything is cancelled including Broadway shows. In PA, venues are only allowed to have capacity of 700. The nightly talk shows and the morning VIEW are now telecasting without audiences. This is something serious that we are experiencing

I doubt that anyone is being critical here. Well, maybe I am when I say that we are all doing as best as we can without the guidance of national leadership. Thankfully, local and state officials are stepping in

Isn’t the Daily News a kind of trash paper? It has a kind of critical trashy tinge to it - that’s all!

A trash paper would be something like the National Enquirer. The Daily News has been part of NYC for over 100 years. It has been the number one paper in the city when the city had over ten newspapers. Today we are down to about three. It is a legit paper although like all legit papers, there are those who will call it trash
