Hi there, im currently looking around to find the names of radio hosts/DJs from the 1970s/80s. I am unfortunately too young to have experienced these days and was wondering if anyone could recommend their favourite soul/disco/funk radio DJ from back in the day!
Thanks, Jack

This was one of the most popular Soul radio DJ's in Toledo from the 60s-80s. Charlie "Chuck"! I listened to him a lot and recently found podcast of one of his old broadcasts from 1973:

Donnie Simpson is a native of Detroit and started as DJ here on WCHB in the early 70s. His nickname was Donnie "The Luv Bug" Simpson.

Frantic Ernie Durham
Ralph, I actually met and got to hang out with Frantic Ernie Durham in the late 80s/early 90s when Ian Levine put on his "Motor City Revue" concerts at the Pontchitrain hotel downtown. Nice man.

I'm probably the only member from central Ohio, so I'll send a big shout out to Kirk Bishop, Les Brown, Eddie Saunders, Bill Moss and Frank Kelly from WVKO [[Columbus) in the '60s and '70s. Used to love these cats, even though I had a love/hate relationship with the intro/outro record talk overs. Great memories of growing up with an ear on 94.7 FM and 1580 AM.

I've been to Felix's parties at Roseland. He gets a couple of thousand people. Yep, Imotep Gary Byrd had a Sunday evening program on WBLS for years too.
