Memories, yes, indeed!

I only glanced at 1974, so far. I'll certainly take the time to review the list more closely. I love vintage disco, especially these years. 1972 and 1973 also saw a few memorable and classic disco records released. Feel The Need In Me is one of them.

In Provincetown, Massachusetts on the tip of Cape Cod the Boatslip resort has an afternoon Tea Dance every day during the summer. On Thursdays, the Solid Gold Tea plays 70s disco exclusively, with a few early 80s and current remakes of 70s classics thrown in. They have other dance music-themed days but I was told 70s disco was the most popular. Usually a fun couple of hours after a day of relaxing by the pool or at the beach.

Never heard of Jennifer, or the song Do It For Me. Appears to be a French import.

This was her only recording for Motown as far as I know. I remember when I was studying in France in 1977 this was a pretty sizable hit. I always liked the song. It reminds me of clubbing in Paris in the '70s.

This list left off the whole first half of 197 4. There were a number of great records that were popular during that time such as:

Rock the Boat- Hues Corporation
Rock Your Baby - George McCrae
Dancing Machine - Jackson 5
Skin Tight - Ohio Player
The Payback - James Brown
For the Love of Money - The O'Jays

Just to list a few. All of these were HUGE dance music hits in 1974.

Fun list; some consider The Hues Corporation 'Rock The Boat' as the first disco single.

Fun list; some consider The Hues Corporation 'Rock The Boat' as the first disco single. It WAS certainly among the first labeled DISCO.

In NYC, many considered Eddie Kendricks 1972 recording of "Girl, You Need a Change of Mind" as the first or one of the first Disco records. It was somewhere between 7-8 mins. long.

1974 B.T. Express : "Do it[[till you're satisfied).
This was a monster hit #2 on pop chart.
Great disco song of the early years.
The long playing version sounds so fresh on today's newer bass speakers!

Was George McRae's "Rock Your Baby" the first male singer solo disco song?

Great list Jack020. Good representation of dance music from the early 70s. I could probably add to it after thinking for a bit. Thank you.

Soul Train, the Supremes 1972. I don't think I've ever seen the Soul Train dancers dance this hard to a record. LOL!
