Dan was definitely influenced by 60s R&B on that album so yeah I hear it a little. :)
What an underrated talent he was! I Can Dream About You is STILL that bop!

Thanks for sharing this Tom Tom ! Don't know the song and enjoyed seeing Dan Hartman in a video, although I have to say that pointless, contrived videos , of which this is an exact example, , made solely to get a song played on MTV, was another reason 80's music became a turn off for me.

You’re welcome Boogie! The whole album has a Hall & Oates feel about it, especially "I Can Dream About You", as Dan originally wrote it with them in mind, apparently!

^ H&O eventually did record it years later but by then, Dan was unfortunately gone.
Y'all know he produced James Brown's final pop hit, right? :)
