i've recently heard a version of 'The Bigger You Love [[The Harder You Fall) by Paloma Faith and always thought this was a Motown song as there are versions by Bobby Taylor, Supremes & Four Tops and Jermaine Jackson. However, I have recently found a version of the song on Youtube by Sister Love released in 1970 on A&M records.
Who recorded the first version of the song and how did it find its way into the Motown songbook.

From.memory Sisters Love did it first.
I think it was written by Marcellino and Larsen
Who later joined Motown so brought.the song with them.

I always like the Supremes/ Four Tops version.
Liked it on Dynamite....I actually thought that was the best of the Supremes/4 Tops duet LPS...

I really like Paloma Faith's version of the song but I have wondered how she came to like and record it? Not really a well known Motown song I'd say?
Never knew Sisters Love recorded it though, interesting it was before Motown.
