Help with an album is required, please

I'm trying to remember the name of an artist, and an album of his.

I think the guy's name is Mark something, and maybe his surname is Italian?

The album was, I think, on United Artists, and was produced, or at least one funk track on the album was, by Randy Muller.

I have every confidence in you guys. ;)
