Diana Ross laughed off a drunken fan who stormed the stage dancing when she performed at a firm’s annual investor conference at Rockefeller Center on Monday.

Video seen by Page Six shows a seemingly overserved guest in a suit jumping onstage and throwing his hands in the air, swaying back and forth and getting uncomfortably close to the “Reach Out and Touch [[Somebody’s Hand)” singer.

But Ross handled it like a pro, smiling and spinning away. Someone finally intervened and ushered the guy off the stage as he kept dancing.

By the way i see that Mary Wilson's much vaunted booking at The Apollo next week has been cancelled due to "unforeseen scheduling circumstances" which roughly translates into poor ticket sales.This is becoming quite a habit for the lady. All these interviews and still no-one is interested. Maybe she should think about sell her tour bus and just retiring.

I doubt that any free books would have been given there or anywhere else. Mary will be at a book store near me next week signing her book. They have to be purchased in the store for $45.00, which means that she is charging buyers of the book ten dollars to autograph it.

Mary has been talking about this coffee table book for decades and is now heavily promoting it - perhaps depending on income. But expecting an Apollo audience to buy tickets for someone promoting a book seemed unrealistic to me.

No, that can't be the reason. She was scheduled at the Apollo for Sept 17th at 7:30 p.m.
The next day, she is also scheduled here to sign books for $ 45 in a book store at 7:30 p.m. So, if DWTS was the conflict for the Apollo cancellation, it would also cause the book signing to be cancelled.

By the way, in another thread, you said that maybe Mary would "wink wink" send you an autographed copy. If not, you can buy an autographed copy from her at the book signing. That is if you also support her with your wallet as much as you do with your posts here

DWTS airs on 9/16. Her gig at the Apollo is on the 17th. She most definitely could make it. I’ve seen past shows where a contestant flys in and out of town for engagements. The show even flys out the dance partner-coaches so they can practice.

And she has a book signing event here the next day on the 18th at 7:30 where she will be selling her book and her autographing it for $ 44.95. So far that is still scheduled and not cancelled

I think we can safely say that the book signing will NOT be cancelled. The only reason why the Apollo engagement was cancelled was because ticket sales were so low as to not make it viable to the venue.

When a performer signs a contract with a venue or a promoter, they are guaranteeing that person that they will be there in good faith. That would preclude them from Entering into another engagement that would prevent them from for filling the original contract. I don’t know where you’re getting your information from, but if it’s where I suspect, I hope you used three ply at least for this mess.

Goldstar was offering seats at half price and had sold four - It was an odd booking anyway and, as such, its not necessarily a giant indicator Of mary as a concert draw. The fact that this is a fairly common End to a mary wilson gig, however, is.

I don't know if you can still call up that information but it was part of the event. Authors frequently do appear at theaters to promote their books with an interview; one can look at listings for appearances on different lit sites. Here in NJ in fact we have an upcoming event in October at the Mayo Center. These normally sell out well in advance. Additionally this was a joint effort with the WNYC/WQXR radio network which also presents author events quite frequently with success. Best to you!
