I'm not talking about songs such as[my girl]which are great of course, but are more-love poems,i speaking of songs that give a more dramatic meaning of being in love...when a man loves a woman[percy sledge]which has been called the greatest love song of all time[and i agree]..love is[the chi-lites]..i stand accused[isaac hayes]are the top three in my humble opinion, let me hear from you on this.

Dark End Of The Street gives me chills [[love Percy Sledge's version, especially). He sings it like he experienced it. Four Tops' I Believe In You And Me is Levi Stubbs' at his finest and it's perfect in my opinion. And You And I by Stevie Wonder is also a very deep song.

I was thinking about the Isley Brothers' Voyage To Atlantis, but I'll put it fourth. Give me a day and I could give you the definitive list, though.

No way could I rank a top three. But a few that spring to mind:

Natalie Cole's "Just Can't Stay Away". My cousin and I were talking about this song some time ago. We both agreed that En Vogue's cover is fantastic. They sang the hell out of it. Beautiful. But to our ears it was like they were simply singing a song someone told them to sing, whereas Natalie sang it like she was living those lyrics.

Lenny Williams' "Cause I Love You". He sounds like he was in danger of opening a vein when the song finishes.

Aretha's "Aint No Way". No words necessary.

Re/Lenny Williams: "My friend said, 'Maybe you should just forget about her!' Then I told my friend, Maybe you haven't been in love before. Like I been in love. So I said to my friend, you get llloonenly you get llloooonellllyyy...!"
