Marv: Thanks for locating and posting this excellent video. There was only one error in it to my knowledge. He stated Berry Gordy Lane. It is Berry Gordy, Jr. Boulevard.

Another item was in the houses picture display of houses that were acquired, did anyone notice that the original home of Motown [1719 Gladstone] was shown before it was torn down. This is a truly scarce photo.

I really enjoyed it, but wish that Marv Johnson would have been mentioned. But overall, it was a really nice presentation and a fine tribute to Esther Gordy Edwards.

Wooward, you are welcome. I think the guy that made this video was visiting fan and decided to make this video based on his family's trip to Detroit and whatever information he researched on his own. I knew the name of the street sounded a bit off. I too wished t they would give Marv Johnson and others more recognition than they received in regards to Motown's history and legacy.

Have you notice that they very,rarely give Barney Ales his props in all of these celebrations? Al Abrams and Miss Ray also should receive more.

Thanks, Marv. Other than a couple of glaring [[to me) errors [[The Supremes hit big in 1964, not 1965; and Kim's last name is Weston, not "Westin"), it was an enjoyable trip down Motown memory lane. Motown's classic '60s heyday was so important in my life, I never get tired of reliving it through documentaries such as this one. Very entertaining! Thanks again!

That was interesting and a lot of effort went into it. I'm sure if we had contributed our knowledge we could have fleshed it out a bit more. My contribution was the photo of Russ who is mentioned as a sound engineer. Again, if you know motown, he WAS the sound of motown. :)

The wife in the photo is Raynoma Liles Gordy aka "Miss Ray". Berry Gordy's other wives were Thelma and Margaret [[common law as I don't believe they ever took the trip to Toledo to get married as he did with his first two marriages).

Ralph I thought he meant the still picture on the video with Miss Raye and Barney hugging. If that is the picture he was referring to, I would take a guest and say that is Mrs. Barney Ales although I don't know what Barney's wife looked like.

Wow! I remember seeing pictures of Stevie's wedding in the paper back then. Barney wrote a book a few years back that I have yet to see or read.
