I recently saw listed for sale a COLOR picture issued by James J. Kriegsmann of Aretha Franklin. I have never ever seen another COLOR picture by Mr. K.

Does anyone have any other COLOR [vs. black and white glossy] photos by Mr. Kriegsmann? Or is this a very extreme rare picture?

Thoughts.

I think they are very rare indeed. The only color Kreigsmann photos I've seen are of Aretha.

I've only seen b/w prints from him.

I have seen MANY images of his, but NONE in color. His story is quite interesting. He was Jewish and after having moved to New York, he decided that he would not discriminate against anyone, not something that was common in that day.

Anyhow, I found this site that has color photos of acts that didn't make it big:

Thanks a million for your locating this article. I learned a lot from it about Mr. Kriegsmann and the Michael Ochs archives. I guess there is nobody today who does things like this for the entertainment industry?

Do you mean the photographers or the musicians pictured on that webpage?

Wow,i've never heard of any of these folks.

Scrolling down the photos, I actually saw two I remember: Morningside Drive and Jakki. Both had moderate club hits in the mid-'70s.
