I’m glad to hear that he has a donor lined up. I’m also glad we got it right from the source this time. Wishing the Wonderman the best!

No, this is pretty much what Patty Jackson of WDAS Philadelphia had reported when I posted this thread on June 25th"

Yes true...But didn't mention a transplant in September, but her joking attitude did not represent a serious medical condition and I found that entire video to be most disrespectful...

She did report about a potential need for a transplant. The date may not have been available at the time of her report. I do recall her asking for prayers for Stevie which was an indication of the seriousness of his condition in my opinion. This story from the Daily Mirror just fills in more of the details that are now available, but it does not tell us much more than Patty Jackson's initial report nearly 2 weeks ago now.

Yeah ...but they came off as so joking and mugging that it was hard to take seriously... Doesn't sound like an emergency if he can continue performing and wait until September for the operation... Wonder who the donor is???... Someone I assume will never have another financial worry in life...

Stevie was in fine form last night in his Hyde Park Concert here in London, and he made the announcement in his set of his transplant which came as a shock to so many of the packed audience. Good that news channels have been carrying some footage this Sunday morning, Stevie seems so positive which is so good.

Just heard the news that Stevie has confirmed his health problems and that he's getting a live transplant. I deeply appreciate his honesty about sharing this news with his fans. Joining everyone in wishing him success with the kidney transplant in September and a full recovery.
