Are some songs better off left alone? Or should they be re-edited/re-worked as backing tracks or instrumentals?

There are times certain songs are comparatively judged by people that don't really know what they are doing.

There are many that should be left alone,because you can't improve on perfection....my girl-respect,just two that come to mind.
