SOULMUSIC.COM will reissue this singer's first two Capitol albums. All I remember is they were sort of ballad-heavy. Am I missing something?

Ok Kam, that was Peabo's trademark. If you're talking about Reaching For The Sky and Crosswinds, they are two of his best works. Well worth the investment, I still have the vinyl and I'll probably pop for this release. Hell there was a time when Peabo and Jeffery Osborne where the shhhhhhh.........

I assume since Peabo was not a dancer, he kept his music slow on purpose and to appeal to his female fans. Yes, Reaching For the Sky and Crosswinds are being reissued as a two-fer. I BELIEVE PEABO DIDN'T GET AROUND TO CUTING A FAST TUNE UNTIL HE COVERED MINUTE BY MINUTE AND THAT WAS MID-TEMPO. Remember Take No Prisoners? That was another rare uptempo number from Bryson.

We have some "best of..." compilations around that I will have to dig out and re-examine.

Here's a early recording when Peabo was a member of Michael Zager's Moon Band, from 1975. [[he later went solo soon afterwards, and the rest they say is history...)

Seen Peabo live twice in the last couple of years, and yes, his mastery of ballads is undiminished. But he can really perform uptempo when he so chooses. The highlight of his shows was his rendition of Ain't Nobody Love You Better, the Chaka Khan number. He really shines on it, it's a pity it hasn't been issued.

Here's a nice example of his live vocal projection......comes across even when recorded on a phone!
