in the mid 80's gary byrd hosted the sweet inspirations bbc radio 1 show 10pm sundays, following robbie vincents show.
as the title suggests it was 2 hours of inspirational music, gospel etc.

the opening theme song had the lyrics "movin on up,movin on up.higher,higher".
thats all i remember!it was sung by a group, male and female mix.
i've forgotten who did it!

any help out there please?

Hi tamla617,

Mighty Cloud of Joy, by..............The Mighty Clouds of Joy. It is the first track on the album issued by the BBC in 1984 entitled Gary Byrd's Sweet Inspirations - Selections From His Radio 1 Show. I got it in 1974 on the Mighty Clouds of Joy album 'It's Time' issued on ABC. Copies available on Ebay.
