Is this a reprint of the Craig Seymour book from about 15 years ago? If so, it’s brilliant.

Yessir!!

I disagreed with a friend who was sure we went to see Luther in concert and I told him it wasn't me. There are two vocalist that I regret not seeing in performance, Sarah Vaughn and the one and only Luther Vandross.

One of the greatest vocalists of our time.Marv, Luther was one of the few singers who put inflection on every syllable that he sang. Other than Nat "King" Cole, I can't really find someone that I can compare it to. I need to read the book.

He needs a new documentary. The one he made while alive [[the Journeys in Black one on BET) was great but he needs a new one. One that goes into his music and how he created such and such. His personal life can be discussed too [[we know his struggles to live his truth) but the music needs just as much talk.

With Sinatra and Marvin one of my favorite singers.
Really glad I saw him live in Miami once with Sounds Of Blackness as opening act and with him for the finale with Power of Love/Love Power.

I was in Montreal when my brother called to say that both Luther and Obie Benson passed on the same day. I picked up a newspaper and it was true.

Luther a vocal I could listen to forever! the original book was superb, if sad, what a troubled life with so much insecurity.

In the first edition of this book, there is NOT A WORD about Marcus Miller who played a big part of almost all songs writing [[and playing bass) Any idea why and will this still be the case in the new edition ?
