Found this link while on Facebook. This looks like an awesome release. Looks like my credit card will take another hit.

itīs certainly a nice package but iīd rather have more atlantic stuff from the vaults. i wonder how much more there is to be found after the double cd was released some years ago. unfortunately her atlantic box from early 90s didnīt contain any unreleased track.

Wow, that seems like an incredible collection of her early work. I've heard quite a few of those tracks over the years and would be interested in hearing more. I had no idea she did covers of My Guy and Every Little Bit Hurts. Can't wait to hear those two songs in particular.

Aretha's version of "My Guy" is probably the best I've heard, second only to the original by Mary Wells!

Isn't the reason there was that double disc set of unreleased Aretha because Jerry Wexler passed and tapes he had of Aretha's unreleased recordings reverted back to WEA-Atlantic-Rhino?
I'm looking for a sale on the Complete Columbia box. I've seen it as low as $130.00, which was down from the previously advertised $180.00 to $160.00.

Jerry Wexler was still alive when that 2-disc set of unreleased Aretha was issued in 2007. He passed away the next year. But I did read in the 80s that he had some unreleased material in his posession, that he was encouraging Atlantic to reissue. I'm not sure if that was what eventually ended up being used for that collection.

Some dealers on Amazon will probably have lower prices of the Columbia set once it is actually released.

RossHolloway, give a listen to Aretha's version of Every Little Bit Hurts. It's pretty darn good.

Heck, let's hear her version of My Guy as well. Love it. Can't wait for this set to be released.
