This Tuesday, Rock Legends is featuring the queens of Motown, Diana Ross and the Supremes. Formerly known as the Primettes, the original four included Diana Ross, Florence Ballard, Mary Wilson, and Betty McGlown. Paul Williams [[McGlown’s boyfriend) and Eddie Kendricks, who later formed the male Motown group called the Temptations, were all introduced to each other by living in the Brewster Douglass Housing Projects of Detroit. Before the Temptations iconic stardom, the men were apart of the group called the Primes. Manager of the Primes, Milton Jenkins had an idea to start a sister group called the Primettes. So Ballard recruited her best friend Mary Wilson, who recruited Diana Ross, and McGlown had her in because of Williams.
