Marv

Thank you for posting this.

I had heard of groups like The M5 & The Stooges, but as they were Rock acts, I never paid any attention to them. I never realized how closely linked they were to the Civil Rights era & totally missed the fact that they were like several of the white youths of that day who were anti-establishment, whom were fighting for change.

This documentary educated me, so I thank you for posting this because it had totally slipped by me.

Juice you are welcome. I think the MC5 performed here in New York last year, but I missed them.

Although I wish they had a few more hours to tell the whole Detroit/ Michigan music story - Mitch Ryder, Reflections, Bob Seger, Jack Scott, Jackie Wilson, Kid Rock, Madonna, Aretha, etc.

Truly have the greatest music and artist of all time right in the state of Michigan.

Bob Seger damned right! Should we add Del Shannon? How about the Romantics, Barbara Lewis, Rance Allen and Deon Jackson and so , so many more!

I am not going to have time to watch this for a while, but do they mention any of the mid 60's garage bands like Pleasure Seekers, Underdogs etc. If they left out the Rationals then thats a crime.
