Sorry to hear....thinking of you Martha and family.
Maybe this is what she was referring to in an interview when arriving at the Franklin funeral.....she mentioned some family issues that sounded dire.

It was pointed out to me recently that Martha comes from a family of 12. She has 12 brothers and 11 sisters plus herself. A large family. I do not know if they are all living.
I was unaware of this fact.

I was unaware of this fact.

I met her brother Benny but he has since passed away some years ago. He performed with the Contours for a very short time.

*I need to make a correction. It wasn't Benny that passed, it was one of her other brother's who's name escapes me at the moment.

Wikipedia says 11 children.

I got my information from the book on Martha Reeves which specifically identified each brother and sister as such. Wikipedia is not always correct.
